Witness the Swissness

Summer is officially here! It's never been a better time to get moving and get in shape. It's easy enough at home to avoid the gym in cafés and pubs most of the time, but here in Switzerland it's a full blown (and very welcome) assault on punters to get in shape!

The Canton of Vaud has organised a whole range of activities for people to get involved, no matter what your level of fitness. Something I would love to have seen at home in Ireland when I was there.

The first one, http://www.urban-training.ch/home ,  is a series of group training sessions that take place outside right here in Lausanne. They have classes all over the place now and an app that you can use to check it out. It's a great way to meet people, get fit and get out:

If you are looking for a bigger challenge, you can always go for the Défi Lausannois.
The Défi Sportif Lausanne encourages you to set a goal and to participate without the spirit of competition (except in relation to oneself) - it includes all the  major popular sporting events in Lausanne and the region. You can win a prize at the end! I'm considering a Midnight Run, just so no one can see how angry I look when I run!

There is something happening here all the time so just choose something you fancy and get out and do it. There's loads of info available at Lausanne city website  Time for you to #witnesstheswissness

If you are even more motivated, you can just get out on your own and do it. Lunchtime in my office most people don't notice my angry sprinting! Just some guy in his +Rhino Rugby gear guzzling from his +Core150® shaker  #witnessthefitness
